Condensed Wikipedia index
This site is an experimental condensed index for Wikipedia.
Each page has several features:
-
Top terms are distinctive terms from the corresponding Wikipedia page.
-
Top links are the top Wikipedia pages with pointers on the given page.
The lists collect related terms and are intended to speed some browsing tasks.
For an example, try the page for DNA.
-
A custom search engine tailored to the page's topic, via a form below the top links.
Each engine searches just the external links cited by footnotes on the original Wikipedia page.
It can save time when one would otherwise need to search many citations.
For an example, type "Illinois" in the search box at the bottom of the page for Abraham Lincoln.
This custom search engine is omitted if the original Wikipedia page cited no outside pages.
Other actions include:
- Click on any of the top links to see the condensed index for the linked page.
- Hover the mouse pointer over a link to highlight the links and terms shared by the current and linked pages.
- Hover over a term to highlight the links that share that term and the terms common to those links.
